Boys love dressing up too!

Fairylove has just had an Epic weekend at Camp Bestival Festival. Woweeee! It was such a high vibrational weekend with such amazing team work . Our customers were lovely with beautiful children and so much amazing feedback about all of our designs. I love us!!!

It was just so nice to see all of my childrens fairy designs being so popular and flying off the rails to kids with smiley faces. There was so much colour leaving our stall and going out into the festival.

My highlights were of course the team and how well we all worked a busy festival together. It made my heart sing! Then there were the little boys….

We really tried this year to have more stuff for boys on the stall. My new designs were super hero capes and pirate pants and we also had some super hero costumes which went down a treat! It was so amazing to watch the boys dress up and instantly become the super hero.  It made me see how empowering dressing up can be for boys!! I watched one little boy walk out in his superman outfit and then stop and punch his arms out and then run around and fight his own shadow..It bought a tear to my eye! Another little boy got his batman outfit on and his mum asked him a question and called him love and he said “I’m not love, I am Batman”.

I think my favourite moment was when a little boy walked up to the counter where Jester fairy and I were serving customers and he said to Jester “how do you get the courage to dress like that” It was quite incredible… We answered that it gets easier the more you do it and that the first time you do it you see that people love it and give you lots of positive feedback! He was really interested in our answers and I wonder if maybe that question he asked so seriously will change his life?

Just before we left the festival I gave a friends son a super hero cape for his birthday present and then sat in the truck watching him “fly” up and down the field at full speed! Absolute Joy.

Here’s to more and more boys and men finding the magic, joys and highs of dressing up!
