Imagine having all the raw chocolate you could eat…

Image

About 20 years ago I made a lovely friend (Sarah) at a singing workshop on my first visit to Byron Bay. She was English and it was her first time in the Byron Bay as well.

This was just before I started to make wings and became a fairy. Sarah and I didn’t see each other for a very long time, I moved to the UK to spread the Fairylove and it was only a few years ago on my returning to Australia and Byron Bay that we ran into each other again! We met at the farmers markets where she now makes and sells her beautiful raw chocolates on her stall Puremelt chocolate. The chocolates are divine. There are so many delicious flavours, davidson plum, ginger, macadamia, sour cherry and coconut and many many more……AND they are Good for you and if you are quite sensitive like me, give you a real buzz and lots of energy!

Last week at the farmers markets I told her that I wanted to make her some chocolate wings. Sarah said that she would love that and that we could do a swap for chocolate. I went home totally inspired and began the next day!

Image

When they were finished I was completely delighted with them! The colours she had chosen were not colours I often work with and I really loved the result! They were all finished and ready to take to the very next farmers market!

Image

She loved them and put them straight on! They looked perfect with her stall and she took to them straight away and got lots of amazing feedback! I have 2 new wing orders from other stall holders since!

Image

ImageSo Sarah got her wings and I got lots of vouchers for her beautiful chocolates. Everyone is a winner baby! Trading for stuff is wonderful, no money changing hands, just an exchange of energies! Beautiful! So much love ((( ♥ )))

Bonafida blessing.

Today I had the most magical blessing. I went up for a waterfall after a few hours gardening. After I had been under the falls, I sat on the beautiful rocks that are Wanganui and started to sing. The minute I started to sing I had these 2 tiny moth/butterfly creatures dancing and flying right in front of my face and above my head. They had long delicate antennae and fast fluttering wings and looked like miniature ballerina fairies. I continued to sing and I felt really joyous as they seemed to play with my energy. I had a beautiful sing and they were with me for about 30 minutes. It was more than amazeballs and felt so very special! The wonder of nature and connecting with it in such a beautiful place.

Baby choko, first of many to come!

Image

Come on Mr pumpkin, you can do it!!! Grow! ♥

After all the rain, spending time out doors in my garden and seeing exciting things like the first choko growing and the pumpkins looking like they will actually keep growing into big proper pumpkins instead of dying off after the flower dies. Then there is also the joys of picking lots of lovely greens for a green juice and seeing what other things have grown to eat. It’s magic.

Fairy wings saved my life…the tail (tale) of the pirate castaway rat.

5 weeks of rain and being flooded in 3 times has not been without it’s adventures but this one stands out in my mind so I wanted to share it with you…and I like telling the story!

A few days ago I got in my car to drive to town, I hadn’t driven it in 2 weeks. Let me tell you there was mold everywhere! My steering wheel was completely covered in it and looked like a science experiment. I had let the windows down a little bit a few days before to let some air in and had forgotten to close them again! Big mistake!!! So I cleaned up as much as I could and set off on our disintegrating roads for the 30 min drive to town.

About 10 minutes along and I gave a startled shriek as a big brown rat ran along the pocket of the passenger door ( I have a very small car!). It was not just any rat, it was a one eyed rat! Oh my goddess, it was such a shock and I have to say I pulled straight over as fast as I could and jumped out (probably making quite a lot of noise, of this I am not ashamed!!!). I ran around to the other side of the car to open the passenger door just as my neighbor and landlord Mooli pulled up behind me. He grabbed my big umbrella and chased it around the car, trying to scare it out and had he gotten it, probably would have beaten it to death! (He has lived out here for 25 years!). He almost got it but my fairy wings were in the way. It seemed to have disappeared so we hoped that it had gotten out without either of us noticing! (This was very optimistic)

So once again I got on the road. Another 10 minutes later and I had spent the drive really hoping that it wasn’t still in the car with me and telling myself to be calm and that if I saw it again I would be calm so I didn’t have an accident! I suddenly had the feeling to open my glove box…ahhhhhhhhh there he was, his whiskers peeking out over my CD’s! I shut the glove box quickly and before I knew it he was running back and forth along the passenger door and disappearing under the seats. I so didn’t want him to come any closer to me. I slammed my car over to the side of the road and reached over to the door he was sitting on and flung it open and the poor little one eyed rat ended up hanging by one claw to the pocket in the door! I think it was sheer will (mine, nothing to do with the volume of the screeching as I yelled at him to get out!) that finally made him let go and fall to the ground. I don’t remember having ever felt such relief that something had left my vicinity!

So my little one eyed pirate rat had a drop off from the fairy shuttle. He gave me quite a scare and I think I might have given him a bit of a one as well. I wish with all my heart that he has found a nice new home somewhere warm and dry and that he is happy and well and not too traumatized by the whole affair!

Somewhere over the rainbow.

Wow! Woke up this morning feeling amazing. Went for a 5km walk in the forest, came home and made juice with grapes growing on my verandah and then went for a waterfall in my backyard! I know, it’s a tough life but someone has to do it hey? After 2 weeks off and really letting myself relax I was finally ready to start working on my new project. “Fairy dreaming” I had a Google conference with the Fairy dreaming team (my beautiful friend Melissa and the lovely Liselle who may well be making a film of it all along the way) and we talked about the Facebook page and the Crowdfunding campaign and the rewards we offer to the donators. We covered so much stuff and I was just bursting with energy for the project and couldn’t wait to begin.

So there is now a Facebook page for those that want to share in the adventure https://www.facebook.com/FairyDreaming

Image

I have been overwhelmed by the support already. 4 hours after I had put the page up I had nearly 100 likes.

Next I started to set up the Pozible page so that we can begin the online funding asap and tomorrow I am making the video that will go on the Pozible page…Ahhh! I practised today and although I put if off for ages, I actually really enjoyed it and the results had me smiling a lot!

Meet Wiruungga, (part of the dreaming team) he is a lovely Aboriginal fella who takes his rainbow bus around to the Aboriginal communities and teaches them Permaculture. He is also very creative and loves to Hula hoop! We met last year and together we will convoy on the first Fairy dreaming love mission.Image

So I have to say that a new project is making me feel happier and more alive than I have in a long time. It is a dream coming true and I have such good good feelings about it!

Fairies make life taste better! ♥ ♥ ♥

Time for dreams coming true ♥

All of your dreams are already coming true ♥ ♥ ♥

We all have special dreams that we wish to see come true. I feel like our dreams are gifts from the angels and are about our divine purpose in this life. Sometimes these dreams seem a long way off, like a distant horizon but I believe that if we nurture them and hold a vision, our dreams can become a reality. Our dreams have been gifted to us to make manifest in this world!
I will hopefully see one of my dreams set in motion this year. My dream is to get a bus and paint it all rainbow and fairy magic. Then I shall fill it with lots of dress-ups, wings and all my fairy wing making kit (Glitter, glue, ribbons, wire, feathers, stockings and flowers) and go and spend time in different Aboriginal communities in Australia.

Being a fairy has added so much magic, positivity and colour into my world and those around me and I want to go and share it with these magical folk and learn about their special magic. I feel like these beautiful people have so much that we can learn from them.

This dream has been growing in me for a long time and it would seem the time is NOW. It is very exciting and I am eager to begin. In December I shall start a 6 week online fundraising project. This will help to buy the bus and to pay for the fuel to get into the outback where a lot of the communities are based. I am hoping to raise enough funds to get me on the road around march and thus will begin Fairy dreaming.

Before I left Australia this year to come back to England, a friend got in touch about my project and said she loved the idea and thought it would make an amazing documentary and asked what I thought about that? I told her I had always thought it would make the most amazing footage and if we can do something to help these folk and the plight with the mining and land situation that would be more than amazing.
There is a lot of work to be done before we set off but I am going back to Australia full of trust and excitement for where this dream shall take me. New adventures and blessings ahoy.

I shall be keeping in touch from wherever I am and keeping you updated on all fairy adventures. Wishing you lots of happy adventures of your own. Remember your inner fairy and that we were all born to fly! We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.
So much love ♥ ♥ ♥

Article from Barbie magazine 1998.

Variety is the spice of life.

After 4 months of being in fields and dressing up, putting up stalls and taking them down, dancing, sleeping in tents etc, I am finding myself sitting at a desk surrounded by “to do” lists. Tying up loose ends and the everyday running of Fairylove. My body is protesting!! It doesn’t want to sit in front of a computer all day. So I have had to relearn how to be an office/workshop fairy.

Variety is the spice of life. I’ve always loved that about life in the Fairylove office. The making of wings and things can easily be forgotten when there are long lists of things to do at the computer. It is amazing to get creative after staring at a computer for hours. The colours, the glitters, the endless possibilities of designs and your mind is suddenly in a whole different world of freedom and inspiration.

My business started with wing making and has slowly turned into something that needs more and more office work and it’s just remembering the grass roots and why you are doing it in the first place that keeps it alive. Remembering to take care of yourself in the process by taking breaks to go for walks and letting go of any tension that’s built up is also great!

It is my last week in England. My bags are nearly packed, the lists are getting shorter and as always I feel torn between worlds. I do love my life here in the UK but I also feel a calling…So follow it I shall.

18 years ago when i started making fairy wings

Wings around the world.

I have worn my wings and dressed up in lots of countries. Greece, India, Indonesia, France, Italy, China, America, Ireland. People are always delighted to see a fairy, even if there is not a proper word for fairy in their language.
My favourite place to be a fairy was Italy. A friend and I went out and we both wore our wings. I also wore a tu-tu, corset, frilly knickers, fishnets, tiara, wig, glitter, the whole fairy kit and caboodle! It was completely amayonaising!
As we walked through the beautiful streets people were beside themselves with joy at seeing fairies. We caused a sensation wherever we went. Everybody wanted us to spend time with them. We were pulled into one bar/restaurant after another and kept having beautiful bottles of prosecco poured out for us. Talk about a red carpet!

The next day walking around all the big designer shops was the same. People jumping up and down with glee and wanting to speak with us and hug us. Absolutely delightful it was!

Wearing my wings in India was also a very memorable experience. I felt like the pied piper in parts of India, as swarms of kids followed me around! They all wanted me to come to their houses and once inside they would shut the doors to keep all the other kids out! Then I would meet their families and everyone would have a go at wearing the wings and having their photo’s taken. In one home we all danced around to Bollywood songs. My heart was full to bursting.
People would see me coming and call out “titterly titterly” (meaning butterfly) and dance on their tippy toes and flap their arms. My first day in Udaipur I wore my wings all day and was exhausted by all the attention. The next day I went out without my wings only to be met everywhere I went with “Titterly titterly, where are your wings”!

So whatever a countries language or history, people all over the world see a fairy as a positive thing. It is such an amazing way to travel because it breaks down barriers and builds bridges of love and magic.

Humble beginnings.

Me making some of my first fairy wings.

Wow, so over 18 years ago this lil fairy started making fairy wings. It was a hugely transformative time in my life after the death of my housemate. So much has happened in my life since then and there has been so much creativity and magic and change. Who would of thunk that 18 years later I am still making wings and wearing them around and sharing the magic of real life fairies around the world!

I wouldn’t change a thing! I can’t imagine a life without the colour, sparkle and connection of being a fairy! We are the ones we have been waiting for!!

I have pulled out a load of photo’s from my old photo albums, back when i first started making wings and my first market stalls to see what the world thought of them! Also my first fairy photoshoot. A lovely friend has scanned them all in for me and I am not quite sure what I want to do with them yet but I am definitely compiling the history of Fairylove. Meanwhile i thought i would share some of them with you!

The bright lights of the stage life.

It’s been an incredible time! Full moon, finishing wings, practise, practise, practise with my hooping routine and so much singing. The weather has been so utterly beautiful! It’s late Autumn in Aussie but the days are just perfect one after the other. I have to get up early to catch the glorious sun because by 1 pm the sun has gone behind the cliff that the waterfall comes over! So my yoga, singing and hooping happen first as I love to do them all in the sun! My discipline has been amazing with it all and that in itself has been a joy. It’s been warm enough that every day is a nude around the garden day so my tan is looking golden!

My debut singing performance and hooping performance was fantastic! It was so wonderful to be involved in the Spaghetti Circus Cabaret night! I have been talking about wanting to perform for so long now and it felt so wonderful to actually do it!  Wooohooo!! There was an amazing feast of performances and I loved the backstage bits as well. I performed first with the Hoopnotists, a hooping dance routine we have been working on for weeks! It was so different doing it in front of lots of people and bright lights.  My routine was by no means faultless but I got into the swing of things. When you mess up in front of all those people  you  just pick up from there and get into it! It was quite a challenge as lots of us hadn’t performed before. A great experience!

After intermission I got into my fairy outfit and covered myself in glitter! It felt really wonderful to be putting on my big wings that I had made especially for the occasion. It really helped with my courage and i wasn’t as nervous as I had thought I would be. I was wonderfully introduced by Belle and then got into my song. It was a song I had written myself and hadn’t sung to anyone before. I was also using a microphone and hadn’t had much experience with those either. The crowd were wonderful and I really enjoyed myself! I have had so much amazing feedback…It was such a big build up with all the practise and I guess just emotionally as it meant so much to me. I was completely exhausted the next day. But now after another week of singing in my magic garden I am ready for my next gig. This weekend I shall be doing 2 songs and my hoop routine at a charity gig…. I’m excited and oh so happy! I am off off and away ladies and gentleman. Dreams do come true x
