Kindred spirits. Wiruungga my convoy partner for Fairy dreaming.

As I drove down out of the valley to go to a meeting I had been looking forward to for months I saw 2 huge wedge tail eagles circling above me. They were so majestic and it felt such a blessing! I was on my way to meet with Kerrianne Cox, an amazing Aboriginal singer songwriter with an amazing vision and voice for the Indigenous communities and beyond. The lovely Wirruungga had put me in touch with her as we were thinking to head to her mobs community up near Broome at the top of Australia with Fairy dreaming next year on our maiden voyage. I had seen Kerrianne perform 2 years ago and she had blown me away with her words and positivity, so I was delighted when WIruungga put me in touch with her. It felt very serendipitous!

I was fully fairied up for our meeting and once we had settled in she told me about all the things she has been doing with the communities and told me lots of stories. It was all amazing, beautiful stuff and she has been working really hard for her people and doing really great work! It was wonderful to hear. We talked for 3 hours straight and somewhere in there I asked her if she thought her mob would be up for me coming to visit with my rainbow bus full of fairydress-ups and wing making kit? She was so enthusiastic about it that it filled me with joy. She said that the family needs fairies and that the kids would absolutely love me. She also said that she would spread the word and let all the mobs along the way to hers, know that the fairy was coming! She also told me that they have “little people” in her culture so I guess that is another reason why Australia’s Indigenous people have always seen the spirit in what I do! I told her that I wanted to make her some wings and when we said goodbye she called out that they would have to find me a name in their language. I felt that the gateway had been opened for Fairy dreaming. I have been welcomed with open arms! I was so excited and happy I was brimming over with it all afternoon and night!

I will be going to see Kerrianne perform on the weekend. I am right now making  her wings and on the day will get some footage of her and I talking about the project for my fundraising film.  Another big step closer to getting my project off the ground. About 20 years ago I made a lovely friend (Sarah) at a singing workshop on my first visit to Byron Bay. She was English and it was her first time in the Byron Bay as well.

This was just before I started to make wings and became a fairy. Sarah and I didn’t see each other for a very long time, I moved to the UK to spread the Fairylove and it was only a few years ago on my returning to Australia and Byron Bay that we ran into each other again! We met at the farmers markets where she now makes and sells her beautiful raw chocolates on her stall Puremelt chocolate. The chocolates are divine. There are so many delicious flavours, davidson plum, ginger, macadamia, sour cherry and coconut and many many more……AND they are Good for you and if you are quite sensitive like me, give you a real buzz and lots of energy!

Last week at the farmers markets I told her that I wanted to make her some chocolate wings. Sarah said that she would love that and that we could do a swap for chocolate. I went home totally inspired and began the next day!

When they were finished I was completely delighted with them! The colours she had chosen were not colours I often work with and I really loved the result! They were all finished and ready to take to the very next farmers market!

She loved them and put them straight on! They looked perfect with her stall and she took to them straight away and got lots of amazing feedback! I have 2 new wing orders from other stall holders since!

So Sarah got her wings and I got lots of vouchers for her beautiful chocolates. Everyone is a winner baby! Trading for stuff is wonderful, no money changing hands, just an exchange of energies! Beautiful! So much love ((( ♥ )))

Super high vibrational times! I am feeling so positive and content, like a big magical shift has taken place and feel happier than I have in a long time! Woooohooo! Lighter definitely! The weather is also helping, beautiful hot sunny days with waterfall lounging in rainbow mists, nude hula hooping, sooooooo much food dripping off all the tree’s, juices, super smoothies, salads, lots of lovely friends popping up the hill to visit me! Life is GOOD!!!!

Got up early on Friday and drove down to Byron Bay for a photoshoot for our Fae mag ad. My lovely friend Maryke met me at Broken head and it was such a beautiful morning!!! We jumped in after the shoot and the water was warm and delicious! The photo’s are heavenly so wanted to share them with you!

Today I had the most magical blessing. I went up for a waterfall after a few hours gardening. After I had been under the falls, I sat on the beautiful rocks that are Wanganui and started to sing. The minute I started to sing I had these 2 tiny moth/butterfly creatures dancing and flying right in front of my face and above my head. They had long delicate antennae and fast fluttering wings and looked like miniature ballerina fairies. I continued to sing and I felt really joyous as they seemed to play with my energy. I had a beautiful sing and they were with me for about 30 minutes. It was more than amazeballs and felt so very special! The wonder of nature and connecting with it in such a beautiful place.

After all the rain, spending time out doors in my garden and seeing exciting things like the first choko growing and the pumpkins looking like they will actually keep growing into big proper pumpkins instead of dying off after the flower dies. Then there is also the joys of picking lots of lovely greens for a green juice and seeing what other things have grown to eat. It’s magic.

After finally feeling like I have enough footage, I get a message from a friend who is a camera man and he is now driving all the way up from Sydney on Friday so that we can shoot all day Saturday and some on Sunday morning before he gets back in his car to drive all the way back to Sydney. Truly amazing news for me!!!

A few days ago I got in my car to drive to town, I hadn’t driven it in 2 weeks. Let me tell you there was mold everywhere! My steering wheel was completely covered in it and looked like a science experiment. I had let the windows down a little bit a few days before to let some air in and had forgotten to close them again! Big mistake!!! So I cleaned up as much as I could and set off on our disintegrating roads for the 30 min drive to town.

About 10 minutes along and I gave a startled shriek as a big brown rat ran along the pocket of the passenger door ( I have a very small car!). It was not just any rat, it was a one eyed rat! Oh my goddess, it was such a shock and I have to say I pulled straight over as fast as I could and jumped out (probably making quite a lot of noise, of this I am not ashamed!!!). I ran around to the other side of the car to open the passenger door just as my neighbor and landlord Mooli pulled up behind me. He grabbed my big umbrella and chased it around the car, trying to scare it out and had he gotten it, probably would have beaten it to death! (He has lived out here for 25 years!). He almost got it but my fairy wings were in the way. It seemed to have disappeared so we hoped that it had gotten out without either of us noticing! (This was very optimistic)

So once again I got on the road. Another 10 minutes later and I had spent the drive really hoping that it wasn’t still in the car with me and telling myself to be calm and that if I saw it again I would be calm so I didn’t have an accident! I suddenly had the feeling to open my glove box…ahhhhhhhhh there he was, his whiskers peeking out over my CD’s! I shut the glove box quickly and before I knew it he was running back and forth along the passenger door and disappearing under the seats. I so didn’t want him to come any closer to me. I slammed my car over to the side of the road and reached over to the door he was sitting on and flung it open and the poor little one eyed rat ended up hanging by one claw to the pocket in the door! I think it was sheer will (mine, nothing to do with the volume of the screeching as I yelled at him to get out!) that finally made him let go and fall to the ground. I don’t remember having ever felt such relief that something had left my vicinity!

So my little one eyed pirate rat had a drop off from the fairy shuttle. He gave me quite a scare and I think I might have given him a bit of a one as well. I wish with all my heart that he has found a nice new home somewhere warm and dry and that he is happy and well and not too traumatized by the whole affair!

The sight of sunshine after 2 weeks of non stop rain and flooding was manna from heaven. I awoke on Saturday to glorious sunshine and blue skies. There was so much clarity in the air that it is difficult to describe but there was great beauty everywhere and I was thunderstruck by the wonder of it! It was such a treat to feel the warmth on my skin. I spent the day palying in the waterhole, airing out the fairy house and just breathing in the beautiful day. In the afternoon I headed into town with my neighbors for supplies as all forecasts predicted more flooding on the way. Getting to town required us to take picks, shovels and buckets with us to fix the road where it had a massive crack in it with a 30cm step where the earth had slipped. (Just another day in Wanganui).

Sunday was another glorious day and after weeks of waiting for the right conditions, I was able to continue with a bit of filming I am working on for My Fairy dreaming campaign. I spent the day dressing up, filming and frolicking in the waterhole. That evening it still wasn’t raining (less chance of being flooded again) so I headed out for some fun and dancing. Oka were playing at the Brunswick hotel. I am so glad I went! It was just the best knee’s up! Lot’s of proper Byron locals there, so lots of familiar faces and Xavier Rudd and Greg Sheehan joined Oka on stage, what a treat! It was just so much fun and after weeks of being trapped in a very wet paradise it was so beautiful to be out celebrating in the big wide world. Everyone was going for it to the awesome sounds and when it started raining on us all, everyone just put their arms into the air and kept on dancing. It felt like such a celebration of all the abundant rain we are getting!

Magic was definitely in the air and now I am back in the hills and it has rained ever since I got home, the waterfall not far from flooding again.

A fairy in the rain at a very soggy farmers market is a total upliftment. I got up this morning and put on my ginormous pink tu-tu and corset and covered myself in fairy dust, put some eye bindi’s on and chose some wings to match. Then I was off into town for what turned out to be the most delightful time! When I rocked up it was chucking it down with rain but I had a massive umbrella that gave good tu-tu cover. Mullumbimby farmers market is normally teaming with all the lovely locals, drinking coffee, shopping, chatting, enjoying the entertainment. But today there was not many folk about. From the minute I hopped out of the car I started getting amazing compliments from people and as I went round doing my weekly shop, I found myself receiving gifts and discounts from all the stall holders! It was amazing! I felt so appreciated and I was given so much positive energy. It definitely put the wind up my wings!

I really love the farmers markets, I get to choose the most beautiful organic veg and my money is going straight into the growers hand and I get to eat local and seasonal food! Win win all round.

One of the stallholders asked if I had any fairy dust on me to give her a wish, as I got the glitter out of my bag I noticed $2 on the ground, I picked it up and got another 50 cents out of my purse to pay her $2.50 for 3 pieces of corn on the cob. After I gave her the wish and paid for my corn she handed me back the 50 cents, free corn! Magic! I think the fairies and pixies were definitely out and about today!

Anyway, I made lots of new friends and went on to have the most wonderful and magical day! It has been a breakthrough day in lots of ways (hope yours has too♥). I love being a fairy! I love my life.

I spent the last week flooded in with an immense waterfall and when the rain finally stopped, found that the dirt road to my lovely house had fallen away in 2 places and was covered in massive felled trees and huge cracks had appeared in different sections of the road! It was epic! Such an adventurous week, it poured with heavy rain non-stop for 4 straight days and the universe chucked in a cyclone for good measure! The biggest trees on the property came down. Every time there was a loud noise outside amidst the heavy rain, I would rush out to see what it was this time! A bit scarey but mostly just awesome being in such wild weather right in the heart of mother nature!

The waterfall grew and grew every day and the power coming off it was just incredible! Even when the rain stopped there was so much water that it was days before I could get out! I had been to the farmers market the day before the rain started so thankfully I had plenty of food! Part of the beauty of it all is how nature has the last say and normal life as we know it just doesn’t exist! I love this about being flooded in! Our internet was also lost and is still not back on! So everything that I was “supposed”to be working on came to a standstill. It really slowed me down and actually that is just what I needed! When flooded in you enter the “No time”. Oh how I love the no time!!!

I have been overwhelmed by the support already. 4 hours after I had put the page up I had nearly 100 likes.

Next I started to set up the Pozible page so that we can begin the online funding asap and tomorrow I am making the video that will go on the Pozible page…Ahhh! I practised today and although I put if off for ages, I actually really enjoyed it and the results had me smiling a lot!

Meet Wiruungga, (part of the dreaming team) he is a lovely Aboriginal fella who takes his rainbow bus around to the Aboriginal communities and teaches them Permaculture. He is also very creative and loves to Hula hoop! We met last year and together we will convoy on the first Fairy dreaming love mission.

So I have to say that a new project is making me feel happier and more alive than I have in a long time. It is a dream coming true and I have such good good feelings about it!

Fairies make life taste better! ♥ ♥ ♥

Wow! Arriving home in Australia this year has been a whole different ball game! I caught up with family and friends for a few weeks and then as soon as I was back in my forest fairy house there were boxes of stock to pick up and stalls to organise and then stock to price and hang up. So many different aspects of getting ready to do a festival. Everything had been packed away for 10 years here so it all had to come out and be dusted off! Then 3 weeks later I was at the festival. Woodford Folk Festival. I hadn’t been there since Fairylove did a stall there 10 years ago. Setting up in the heat 2 days before christmas felt unreal but very exciting!! Spending christmas day there was amazing! So far from santa and christmas decorations. I had a kahuna massage at 9 am and then made a big super smoothy and then made a massive pot of raw choc mousse to share with a friend. The rest of the day was spent in the shade of a big tree with a spray waterbottle. It was a heatwave! Then the festival was begun! It is a beautiful site and the folk there loved us! We felt totally loved up by everyone and while they didn’t take to Fairylove like the eccentric English folk, I would call it a fairy success. We sold lots of Fairy tasties (nipple tassles) which was a bit of a surprise and had a few blokes dressing up!

The rainbow frilly knickers went down a treat as did the sequin hotpants, kids tu-tu’s and the pirate pants. I also sold a few pairs of Fairylove wings to folk who had gotten wings from me 10 years previously. Amazing!!!

I got the police to don wings on the last evening and got amazing feedback from everyone! It has taken me over a week to recover from the festival and I am looking forward to going back next year (maybe with some English Fairylove family in tow!!!)
